Day 15 - What Kind of DIRT Are You? - 30 DAYS BIBLE CHALLENGE - Luke 8:1-39

Did you enjoy your GRACE day on Day 14???

Well we are up an running for this 3rd week of our 30 Days with Jesus Bible Challenge.

Today's Bible Challenge Reading for Luke 8: 1-39 - What Kind of DIRT Are YOU???

When you have read... let us know or share anything you learned...please use the comment section below!

In Today's reading there are several nuggets to help us get a little CLOSER to Jesus...that's the goal right??? First of all:

WHAT kind of DIRT are you?????

In one of these lessons JESUS teaches about fertile soil...HE is talking about is talking about OUR HEARTS. JESUS mentions different kinds of hearts...

HIS top choice?

If our hearts are uncluttered and open to God it is called FERTILE:

A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field

Still other seed fell on fertile soil.

This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted!”

When he had said this, he called out, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand"

What is the point???

Well...do you have ears???? Then you qualify=)

If so..........Jesus says this is a lesson to help you =)

Jesus is saying that is we have hearts open and available to God...we will accomplish alot in THIS LIFE. We will do ALOT for God and His agenda! Cool.

Perhaps more to the point is the part of our reading today where it says in verses 16-18

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.

“So pay attention to how you hear.

To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given.

But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

You can let the light of Jesus that is in you shine many ways=)

Even SIMPLE WAYS

*Being kind to someone...

*Being excessively generous with someone

*Forgiving someone you are mad at even if they DON'T deserve it...

*Open a door for someone...

*Ask someone how they are doing?

*Compliment someone kindly...

*Give someone a hug...

*Answer kindly with a soft answer to someone who is a little rude to you...

*Pray for someone...

*Encourage someone...

*Speak ONLY the TRUTH...even if it hurts

I challenge you to do this and watch the SHOCK on people's face! It can be addicitive to be super kind to others.

JESUS can stop YOUR STORMS too!

Finally perhaps the BEST part of today's reading is this...

JESUS went on a trip with His peeps and storm started to wreck their trip. The were in a BOAT. Storms and boats don't mix well.

Now Jesus was so worried (NOT) that He took a nap!

One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out.

As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.

The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”

When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves.

Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.

Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?”
The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

Please, please, please remember....God wants to do something great in your life!

TELL GOD about THE STORMS in your life so He can HELP!! If you like legos, here some people put alot of time into recreating the story

For the OLDER crowd...this nice song video has the same graphic warning as DAY 1. Jesus' life was rough at the end. A few of His last days are depicted here:
